Ashleigh Renard stomach meditation

I’m not pregnant. I’m meditating. Since I was eleven years old I have kept my belly button pulled toward my spine and spent more than two decades instructing others to do so. Honestly, I think my transverse abdominis is engaged during sleep. And that’s not really a bad thing. It’s good for posture. It’s essential for safe movement. But, if I am trying to calm my body and quiet my mind, I can follow my breath, relax my tongue, or chant a mantra, but nothing works as effectively as softening my belly. Whether I’m sitting for meditation or standing in my kitchen, when I relax my core I RELAX. (Intentionally not posting a swipe left pic with my abs tight. Just assume every other photo I’ve ever posted was taken while my core was engaged.)
